My name is Patricia de Ruijter. As an artist I've been absorbed by "space" since 1987.
Original and virtual space, past, present and future space, and the cultural and natural space: closing the gap between these supposed opposites creates an optimal space. The word BreathingSpace reflects my personal desire perfectly.
In our continually changing, evermore opening world, space turns out to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I work with a forward looking vision, reacting to the future.

With a camera in my hand, I explore my surroundings much more intensively. Zooming in and melting with it. Zooming out to observe nature in relation with people. These two ways of looking are reflected in my work.
