Patricia de Ruijter, art and photography
'Borders' are in fact entirely fictitious illusions, besides being interchangeable and different to everybody!
My name is Patricia de Ruijter. As an artist and curator I've been absorbed by "space" on different levels since 1987. The individual and the whole, the original and virtual space, past, present and future space, and the cultural and natural space: I am question the gap between these supposed opposites . The word BreathingSpace reflects my personal desire perfectly. I work with a forward looking vision, reacting to the future.
On this website you find a fine selection of my work on art and photography. In my CV you find a description of older work that still affect my present work.
I am looking forward to your reaction. Please contact for any question or suggestion. patricia@mediakaal.nl
With a camera in my hand, I explore my surroundings much more intensively. Zooming in and melting with it. Zooming out to observe nature in relation with culture. These two ways of looking are reflected in my work.
